Abortion Rights!!!!!!!!!!!
Seeing how far we in the U.S have come with abortion laws we sometimes forget the struggles put upon other countries in there time of despair. After watching the film about the abortion problems in many other countries affected by their countries views on abortion or from our own country. The one thing that struck me on this subject the most was the drastic measures taken by these women of all different ages and races to prepare themselves for unfit abortions. From the usage of tree roots to puncturing of the uterus. Even in these women's terrible times they have no help and have to resort to unhealthy abortions. Even with the help of doctors there is still a gap that conrtols the abortion laws in these countries which make me thinks is ther mor we can do in america.

Power vs Privilege
We have talked this semester about the power struggles between the two, power and privilege and as this semester went on I truly developed my own interpretation of the more influential of the two. One of the most important things we have learned this semester is that power can influence the way all people or cultures of a group are viewed. Unlike privilege, power can create privilege amongst the group or class that is seen as the most powerful at that particular time. From reading in class to social diversity the way we view each other is based on the manipulation of the group or people in power. Sometimes this slips our mind but the way we view America and other countries is based on the way the people in power choose for us to see things.

Change today and change yesterday!!!!!!
With all the changes going on in America and with President Obama being the first Black president, I feel that we sometimes forget that America and the world itself has come along way. Even though there are laws that prevent the same unjustifications as in the 1960's and back we still fight for a better country for homosexuals, minorities and others as a way to continue to make the world a better place. But something struck me and hurt me to the hard core could the changes of seeing Obama being the first black president give forgotten thought of those like Martin Luther king and Gandhi that came before him. Sometimes we get so caught up in the present to the point we see everything as equal for all walks of life today. But what if we saw it from the perspective of those who fought for the rights and reasoning's we have today, would we continue fighting or allow ourselves to stop now thinking there is no end, but today. Just food for thought.

Gender!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After watching the video last week on the situation that happened after the son genitals were cut off, we learn that even that gender can be picked by some accounts for others, but the same cant be said for all. The most intriguing thing I learned from that unfortunate situation was that Doctors feel that programming the mind can sometimes over weigh the feelings that individuals feel biologically. Its sad that this entire situation shows that the study of the human format can not be put into one box based on what we are taught to believe. In class after watching the video i mentioned the complex situation that takes place mostly in the Dominican Republic of boys being born where their genitals do not fall as children but when they turn 12 their genitals fall that make their own decision on what gender to choose based on their individual feeling. This is a powerful subject but I would to discuss how these situations are handled in other countries.

IS TRUE CHANGE GOOD OR BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This past year I had a chance to do some writing and reporting for XXL magazine which focuses on the roles of urban culture from clothes, music to technology. One of the most interesting interviews i did was on the Grammy award winning artist Lil Wayne. We all know he has a repetition of allowing trouble to find him, but as a artist the way he brings men, women, and people of all different nationalities together as way to express himself has been topped by no one in music history. I notice in the media we focus on the negatives of how hip hop music has had a negative influence on America but no one speaks about so many people are affected in a positive way and how so many cultures are looked at as equal but of the same likes and understanding of music. The question is should we focus on the change for good presently or the bad of the past.
The diverse U.S
I watch in the media as we speak about the United States being so diverse and welcoming to others outside of our nation. It seems everything comes at cost, we are welcoming to those that supply our country with drugs that supply some of our politicians with money. We don't welcome people that seek government funded living but the owners of athletic teams make us as tax payers pay for the arenas and then pay to come watch the game as they push the money being made out on the players, witch together do not receive 30% of what the owners make ( that's real welfare). America has a nice way of allowing the dominance of favoritisim amongst certain groups by only highlighting what is important to those that may no understand. As I continue to grow and get older I do realize that there are boundaries set up to only allow certain groups as a majority to recieve a certain way of life.
